Giving a speech at UN in 2015 and getting a standing ovation from the UN Secretary General standing up for women in leadership. Those words would be put to the test a few years later.
By refusing to subject herself to abuse Meghan asserted her boundaries. By saying no she was Clearly communicating her expectations and limits. This is an essential power move. It shows that she is in control of your own space and that you will not tolerate behaviors or actions that cross those boundaries even if it is the King of England.
Meghan knows her self-worth values her mental health and sets boundaries and has the self-confidence to know she can do it without the trifling in laws. This is why British tabloids hate her. They worship the royals as if they are gods and Meghan says no thank you. I will not sacrifice my well-being for these people because I can make it without them.
Markle has sent a powerful message that she is a woman with agency who is control of her own destiny. Meghan could have never guessed when she was growing up that she would marry a man who belonged to the most evil family on the planet. Many girls dream of becoming a Princess not Meghan she wanted to be a woman who works.
African women in leadership understand their value. They understand the value they bring to the table. African women’s empowerment is different from European women’s feminism. It is about fighting for security and protection. Every African female leader knows that women and men protect the homeland. No gender wars, shared power essential for survival together.
Meghan walks in her feminine power as a woman standing in her authority. Displaying courage and audacity to take on the most powerful establishments on the planet British royals and tabloid media and call out bullying and toxic behavior towards her.
The tabloids expected Meghan to disappear in shame and lose her voice. Today she is more respected by not just women and girls but men as well. The Time Magazine readers poll named her the 3/4th most influential person in the world in 2023 together with her husband.
The British were dismayed that a person of African descent knows her worth and demands respect. They tried to bully her into submission with the palace leaking their negotiation details to vicious tabloid press. Meghan stood her ground. She is a mother first and Prince Archie and Princess Lili come first in her life, those are her priorities.
Meghan is a great mother and her focus is protecting her children and defending the homeland. Protecting her values from enemies both foreign and domestic. Upholding the great legacy of Ubuntu to ensure peace and prosperity for all her children. Never again have to bend her knee to the Windsor klan who hates her guts and confidence and pride in her African heritage.
