Tomorrow’s Women Wirral (TWW) chief executive Angela Murphy told the Globe: “I am thrilled the Duke and Duchess asked to visit our centre.”
The charity also offers a range of courses and workshops for more than 6,500 women on an annual basis plus attendees can access support groups aimed at addressing issues such as; mental health, domestic abuse, substance misuse and debt. For women only, the centre is part funded by Merseyside Community Rehabilitation Company (MCRC) and offers a range of services to adult women in the community – this includes those on probation or custodial license.
“I think we all know how important, for me, it is for women supporting each other,” remarked the duchess in a short speech to staff and beneficiaries. “As my husband may have mentioned earlier to some of you, it’s also key that men are there supporting behind the scenes, and very presently, as well, so I think I can very safely say on behalf of both of us that it’s an honor to be here.”
