The desire to make positive change led the Duchess of Sussex to break her maternity leave in support of the Invictus Games Foundation. Her husband the Duke of Sussex is the founding patron of the Invictus Games. As part of @WeAreInvictus’s partnership with @mlblondonseries, Invictus have a team participating in @mlb’s #Softball60, the social softball series in London built to be inclusive and introduce the sport to new audiences according to Omid Scobie the renowned and respectable royal reporter. What better way to become more inclusive than to collaborate with Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan the embodiment of global inclusion.
The first Major League Baseball game to be played in Europe was between American Boston Red Sox and American baseball team the Yankees. The game was played in London at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park stadium with 66,000 people in attendance. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were greeted with loud cheers; claps and sheer exuberance from the crowds. Archie Harrison’s parents are loved by fans from both sides of the Atlantic.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited clubhouses of the baseball teams. Archie was on everyone’s mind. The young fellow has no idea yet what a global superstar he already is. Both teams gifted the royal couple with a jersey for Master Archie. In a stroke of marketing genius the Yankees outdid the Red Sox by giving the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a personalized jersey with his name. The Duchess’ reaction was priceless.
The teams viewed the partnership with the royals with the reverence. The Red Sox manager Alex Cora affirmed what a big deal the royal presence at the game was. He described it as “a great moment for the team, for the organization.” She even met a long lost relative Mookie Betts and had a family reunion.
Duchess Meghan wore a stunning Stella McCartney which was in her usual chic style. She wore flats to the game day. The Duchess looked as youthful as ever showing no signs that she had been up all night taking care of the boss Master Archie as they bond together. Duchess Meghan has taken to motherhood and believes that Master Archie is her highest priority.
