The debut of Baby Sussex on world’s stage was regal. The world wanted a glimpse of this history making Prince. Given that the stakes were so high Brand Sussex had to deliver an introduction worthy of a history maker. The setting Windsor Castle, the castle that bears the family name with all its glory. The doors with their golden trimmings the walls carved with gold.  This was a global introduction worthy of a prince. His name is Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.  7th in line to British throne, great grandson of reigning monarch, grandson of Britain’s future King. With all that pedigree he is also simply Harrison son of Harry. Prince Harry that is. 

The Duchess may have given him the name Harrison as a nod to her husband. The name Harrison is heavy with significance. The Duke of Sussex may have named his first born Harrison to proudly give Archie an identity. In a world which mixed race people sometimes feel they are forced to assume one of their parent’s identity Archie can embrace his mixed heritage as Prince Harry’s son and draw his own box.

Their family name Windsor was changed in 1917 to reflect the British royal family’s maternal British heritage. Their paternal family name was Saxe Coburg Gotha.  They were of the German house through Queen Victoria’s husband Albert. During WW1 the anti-German sentiment in Britain was high. Suddenly tradition was tossed, royal protocol broken in order to survive the monarchy had to adapt to the environment and transform.

Names are hugely significant in most cultures naming ceremonies are a big deal. Names convey the aspirations of the parents as well as destiny that they wish for their child. For Prince Harry and the former Meghan Markle Archie is the noble, genuine son of Prince Harry who battles mountains & is victorious. Archie Harrison is also a descendant of the royal house of Windsor. 

The introduction of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was a global triumph in brand Sussex stage craft. In the words of America genius & global trendsetter Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs is also the American founder of Apple inventor of the iPhone of touch technology once said:

Archie’s name was announced on Instagram after his debut garnering millions of likes and engagement on the social media platform.
