Travalyst is the brainchild of Duke Harry through a joint foundation with Meghan, which will help travelers make greener travel decisions. Travalyst will be educate travelers on ways to minimize air pollution when they fly to vacation destinations. In addition, Travalyst will support the local community in the country they are traveling to.

By educating people about sustainable travel and how too many travelers affect a tourist spot the travelers can make better choices. Most tourists are ignorant about how their travel impacts local communities. If you ever travel to a lot of tourist destinations the locals are impoverished and the hotels make all the money. The Duke wants the tourism money to be returned to local communities. He and his wife want to build better communities.

Travel has the unique ability to open our minds and hearts to different cultures and deeply appreciate what our world has to offer. Our world is facing an environmental threat of unprecedented scale. And as tourism inevitably grows, it is imperative to accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices and balance the growth of travelers with the needs of the environment and local populations. A huge systemic shift is needed to tackle the challenges of deforestation and biodiversity loss, ocean plastic pollution and poaching. Travalyst’s goal will allow airlines and cruise operators, restaurants, and hotel chains to make the tourism industry less harmful to the environment.

It is important for the foundation to pay attention to the fact that the world is under a serious environmental threat, and tourism is always relevant to society. Travalyst will inform people about who the money spent on travel ultimately goes to. The Travalyst program initiative is began in 2017. The first partner meeting with a group of travel organizations was held to help make the travel industry greener.

• 68% wanted part of their fees directed to the residents of the cities visited.
