Before Sussex Royal, came the idea of ‘Arche’ names have meanings. Arche (/rki/; Ancient Greek:): (n.) Greek word meaning “source of action”. Well (/wel/): (n.) a plentiful source or supply; a place we go to dig deep.

We connected to this concept for the charitable organization we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name. To do something of meaning, to do something that matters. Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon. We look forward to launching Archewell when the time is right.

Meghan and Harry connected on their vision to do so much to build better communities. It will allow them to do some ambitious things. Their charity will provide them with an opportunity to create something that defines their legacy.

Meghan Markle’s philanthropic and humanitarian work prepared her for Royal Life. From her family to volunteering on Skid Row in LA at shelters Meghan was raised to take care of others. Glass Slipper Project in college, Dove Self Esteem project, the Felix Center in Toronto, Feeding America etc. Her humanitarian work speaks for itself.

During International Day of the Girl in 2015, Meghan Markle, who is also a UN Women’s Advocate, led the Dove Self-Esteem Project in Toronto. She conducted a day of workshops for youth and educators. Meghan Markle wanted to instill confidence in the young girls, so they grow up knowing their worth. This message resonates with so much young people. Meghan’s own life story is a lesson in courage and valuing oneself.

Archewell is the legacy of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. It will stand the test of time because Archewell is built to last.
