Archewell Partner World Central Kitchen Feeding Troops Preserving Democracy

World Kitchen Feeds Guardians of Democray

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s foundation, Archewell, partnered with World Central Kitchen. Their partnership will build relief centers which will feed people in disaster-stricken areas. Before José Andrés won four Michelin stars for his cooking. Before he made the debut on the cover of Time magazine as the chef who “wants to feed the planet,” Chef Jose served in the Spanish Navy. Award-winning chef José Andrés is not any stranger to disaster zones.

In 2021 the World Central Kitchen is feeding the US Army National Guards. They are restoring law and order after fascist insurrectionists stormed the US capitol in an attempt to undermine democracy. Their plot failed and now the National Guard is preserving democracy itself as the world awaited the inauguration of the new US President Joseph R. Biden and first female Vice President Kamala Harris. These brave men and women are the guardians of democracy and civilization and deserve all the support in the world.

Prince Harry and Chef Jose are both servicemen having served their countries. Prince Harry has a long history working with Dr. Jill Biden wife of US President given their mutual interest in veterans and veteran family welfare. Leadership is influence and Harry and Meghan had the foresight and insight to partner with this great organization. Archewell is helping keep America safe. For Prince Harry this is what being a soldier is all about. Because once served always serving.

Global Impact of Chef Jose’s Work

Over the past few years, Chef Jose used his skills during several major crises. After an earthquake devastated Haiti, and Hurricane Maria ravaged Puerto Rico, wildfires scorched Southern California, and a refugee crisis intensified on the Venezuelan border. Chef Jose quickly mobilized volunteer chefs in each of these spots to organize meals for thousands of individuals in need. That is compassion in action. That is leadership in action.

During the worldwide coronavirus pandemic, Chef Jose is again leading the charge to supply food relief to the elderly, those suddenly without work and front line health care and essential workers.

He was early to spring into action. His nonprofit World Central Kitchen (WCK) created makeshift kitchens at the ports in Japan and California to feed quarantined cruise liner passengers and crew in February 2020. They even turned the Nationals baseball stadium in Washington, DC into a field kitchen to cook and distribute free meals. Talk about being adaptable.
