Why teach children at Guinjata Bay to Swim?

Mozambique is a coastal country prone to cyclones and all sorts of water disasters. People who cannot swim naturally fear water. The answer to overcoming this fear is learning how to swim. In Guinjata bay swimming gives people hope. Hope that should the water come they can swim their way to safety. After the success in this one specific village the plan is to expand to other villages across Mozambique. ‘

Problem Solving

Building a life saving swimming pool in Guinjata Bay, Mozambique, to teach locals to swim. The goal is to transform the community for the better.

• Job creation for trained swim teachers since the economy of that area of Mozambique is marine eco-tourism depending on scuba diving trips. 10 teenagers become assistant tutors, and train one new teacher: Mozambique’s first citizen with a Safety Training Award Level 2 qualification. “For our second summer we were able to expand and focus on open water swimming, teaching rescue work, and CPR
• Reduction in drive time– children had to drive 45 minutes to go for lessons at another swimming pool
• Safe space to train swimmers and save lives
• More time spent on teaching -double the amount of swimming lessons

Through @SussexRoyal Instagram Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex heard about the work Love the Oceans has done in Guinjata Bay since 2014 through volunteers to protect the marina. Ever the powerful networker known for her ability of making powerful connections ; Princess Meghan introduced Love the Oceans to Princess Charlene of Monaco who does similar work in Africa teaching people to swim.

Global Sussex Baby Shower

People from 70+ countries contributed to the #GlobalSussexBabyShower in support of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Baby Archie. The supporters raised over $100,000 for Sussex causes. This move was unprecedented, never in the history of the royal family had there been a grassroots led celebration for a royal baby. This global celebration showed the global influence the Sussexes have. This outward display of affection and love for the 7th in line rattled very many insecure people in the royal establishment. In their myopic minds this kind of love should be reserved only for the direct heirs. The peoples’ action spoke otherwise. The LunchboxFund alone received over $30,000 from donors in 14 countries in honor of 7th in line one Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

The Lunchbox Fund, one of four charities to benefit from donations made by the public to celebrate Archie’s birth, in action—it provides nearly 30,000 meals every day to schools in the country’s townships and rural areas . The celebration of communities around the world giving a hand up and hand held to families who need it the most was a testament of the kindness of Sussex supporters.The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made it a point to bring accountability by highlighting the impact that donations made on local communities.

The generosity of the global Sussex tribe enabled Well Child a charity which Prince Harry is patron of; to provide 300+ additional hours of specialist care for a child with serious health issues. The kindness and generosity of the Susssexsquad allows the family to stay at home vs being in the hospital. The love and community support of Sussex supporters is unparalleled. Baby2Baby

Baby2Baby has received more than 5,000 products to disperse to children in need — including cribs, books, backpacks and diapers, plus thousands of dollars in cash — from around the world. Using the Amazon registry, people donated 2,014 toothbrushes 80 bottles of shampoo.
One of the cribs donated, the duke and duchess’ gesture benefited one homeless woman who was sleeping in a garage with her 4-month-old baby. “It’s still coming in and growing every day,” .
