More than a symbol, she is a game changer. Meghan Markle is regarded a thought leader who was sought out by UN Women to become an advocate for their causes. She came to their attention through the think pieces she wrote on her Lifestyle platform ‘The Tig’. The Tig was a global hub for empowerment. Before marrying into the Royal family Meghan Markle had a life of strategic thinking; working on women in leadership and politics. Her focus was economic development which was meaningful work.

• Before she married the Prince of England the former Meghan Markle hosted dinner parties to raise funds for the homeless. She volunteered at soup kitchens as a teenager. She took a cue from Lauren Bush Lauren’s FEED to raise money to feed the hungry through dinner parties. She and her friend raised enough money for 6,000 meals from just one dinner party. It is these authentic actions and concern for others that draws members of the Commonwealth to Duchess of Sussex.

Duchess Meghan the former Meghan Markle’s wedding veil was 16.4 ft and full of symbolism. The dutiful Duchess of Sussex incorporated flowers from 53 of the commonwealth countries to signify their importance to the British monarchy. She put the commonwealth front and center at her wedding. This nod to the Commonwealth endeared the Duchess of Sussex to the commonwealth even more.
