Wasted opportunity is unacceptable with stakes this high. To break the cycle of poverty, and to achieve economic growth and sustainability in developing countries, young women need access to education. The impact of Duchess Meghan’s visit:
- ACU is offering 3 new Gender Grants at the University of Johannesburg, University of Western Cape, and Stellenbosch University for research and science, technology, engineering and mathematics, areas where women are under represented.
- Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships to students from Tanzania, Zambia, and Nigeria who have been selected to study in South Africa next year
With students being able to study in a cross-cultural environment, not only are they able to absorb the knowledge in that community, but they’re able to bring that back home with them to really elevate that knowledge.
