The Taliban seized control of Kabul, Afghanistan. There is fear and uncertainty not just from the pandemic but this political uncertainty. The world is looking for leadership. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex issued a statement in response to the events. They are visible leading from the front.

The mark of leadership is to take the lead during times of crisis.  Bringing hope, in uncertain times and providing resources to alleviate suffering and reassurance during these troubled times. Harry and Meghan are leading the humanitarian call because leaders lead. Their Archewell Foundation adapts its work to suit the needs of emerging global situations.

Encouraging their community to join them in supporting a number of organizations doing critical work. Urging positional leaders to step up and use their positions of global influence.  To rapidly advance the humanitarian dialogues that are expected to take place this fall at multilateral gatherings such as the U.N. General Assembly and the G20 Leaders’ Summit.

Meghan Markle has a long successful working history with the United Nations. Elizabeth Nyamayaro Senior advisor to UN Secretary General mentored Meghan at the United Nations. Elizabeth was impressed by Meghan’s intelligence, commitment, and curiosity.In 2015, Meghan Markle received a standing ovation from an audience, including UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, for a speech she made on International Women’s Day.

Meghan Markle spent time in the United Nations War Room “the room where it happens” she has first-hand knowledge that the UN is equipped to handle global crisis. Emotions running high, with stress and fear being at the forefront. The world is exceptionally fragile right now. As we all feel the many layers of pain due to the situation in Afghanistan, we are left speechless.

The growing humanitarian disaster in Haiti, after the earthquake. As humanity we are exhausted from the emotional and physical turmoil of the pandemic. The Sussexs support humanity through their partnership with World Central Kitchen and Vax Live and Global Citizen bringing 25 million from Mastercard.

Prince Harry is a Battle tested war hero. He Served 2 tours of duty in Afghanistan, when no other royal rose to this call of duty. While other more senior royals were schmoozing tabloids Prince Harry served Queen and country honorably. Meghan Markle Worked with the US Military, United Nations, These best-in-class organizations. In 2014 she went on a US Military USO Tour to thank the troops for their service.

Gen (R) Marty Dempsey the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (the highest-ranking & senior-most military officer in the United States Armed Forces) traveled with the future Meghan Markle in 2014 on an USO Tour. The General described the Duchess as “genuine, kind, humble and compassionate”

Prince Harry is affectionately known as the prince without borders.  Prince Harry Received the 2012 Distinguished Humanitarian Leadership Award which recognized his work with military veterans, servicemen and women. Prince Harry founded the Invictus Games to rehabilitate wounded warriors.

    Harry and Meghan, Archewell have done so much for the people and animals in many aspects and these latest tragedies in Haiti and the fear in Afghanistan, they are the kind of leaders we need because they help.
