The Duchess of Sussex along her husband hosted polo with a Purpose in Santa Barbara to benefit their local community. On May 10, 2022, a tree fell on the Santa Barbara food bank building; and the offices upstairs were completely crushed. Money donated will help the food bank will cover costs that may not be covered by insurance to replace the generator destroyed by the tree.
As compassionate citizens the Sussexes stepped up to help their community. The Los Padres charity polo match raised funds for these local charities in Santa Barbara & the surrounding areas. The funds raised will benefit the following charities.

Prince Harry’s polo team Los Padres’ name was inspired by the proximity of the field to the Los Padres National Forest plus their connection as fathers played in the fundraiser. Nacho Figueras a long-time friend of Prince Harry described as Harry’s true brother together with Harry and Meghan knew they had to be involved in being part of the solution.
The glamorous Duchess of Sussex adorned a black-and-white polka dot blouse and white wide Bermuda shorts. The black wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses took the look to a new level of effortless chic. Her berry lipstick made her look pop and defined her as a modern-day philanthropist. Her necklace with an “A” honored her son Archie who turned 3 this month.
Royal fans of Diana made the comparison with Princess Diana who wore similar polka dot dress to Princess Charles polo match in 1987. Recently Meghan attended the Invictus games in Hague the Duchess channeled her mother in law’s style with the Khaite bodysuit.
The couple’s affectionate display was reminiscent of another memorable kiss they shared at polo matches throughout their marriage. In 2018 the Duchess gave the duke a congratulatory kiss after his team won their match in London. The polo match was for a fundraiser for Sentebale.
In 2019 a newborn Archie joined them to watch and support his dad raising money for charity. The polo match, which took place at Billingbear Polo Club in Wokingham, will benefit charities close to the family’s hearts, including the Invictus Games Foundation and the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust.
In 2021 Prince Harry played polo in Aspen Colorado and raised $3.5 million or £2.6 million. The Duke of Sussex made a personal donation of $1.5 million. The funds were for Sentebale. Sentebale founded by Harry alongside Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in 2006. It’s dedicated to supporting the well being and mental health of vulnerable children and young people in the countries of Lesotho, Botswana, and Malawi.
During the same period in 2021 Prince William, the taxpayer funded future heir raised a meager $690,000 or £500,000 for his charities. Prince William failed to make a personal donation to support his charities. Leadership is about results; Prince Harry serves his local community while William makes little effort to help local communities.
