The Sussexes are transforming communities by empowering individuals to solve problems in a practical way. NBC reported that that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex went to Stanford University in February 2020 to meet with academics, students and practitioners. They were involved in a brainstorming session with these global thinkers regarding their new foundation. Stanford university is one of the groundbreaking leading institution when it comes to innovation. They have produced entrepreneurs such as Larry Page of Google.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were in the right environment, with kindred spirits. They promote #entrepreneurs on all their royal tours. it is evident that their foundation Sussex Royal will focus on purpose, profit and impact. SmartWorks charity is an example of this.

• Together Cookbook the brainchild of Duchess Meghan in collaboration with women from Grenfell tower transformed the Kensington community. The Hubb kitchen provided meals to the community was only open for 2 days due to lack of funding. The Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry’s beloved wife a humanitarian at heart and social entrepreneur in practice put her experience to assist this community. She empowered the women to write down their recipes. Using her vast network of contacts as a business woman Duchess Meghan created the ‘Together cookbook.

• The Duchess of Sussex empowered the women to become award winning writers and no longer just victims of tragedy .The proceeds from the sale of the Together Cook resulted 300 meals a day, 109, 500 meals a year for retirement homes, homeless shelters & survivors of domestic violence.
• Before she married the Prince of England the former Meghan Markle hosted dinner parties to raise funds for the homeless. She took a cue from Lauren Bush Lauren’s FEED to raise money to feed the hungry by hosting dinner parties. Meghan always volunteered at soup kitchens as a teenager. She and her friend raised enough money for 6,000 meals from just one dinner party.

Meghan and Harry are impact investors. Impact investments are investments made with the intention to generate positive, measurable social and environmental impact alongside a financial return.
