When women like Holly lead the world changes for the better. 72 members of parliament from across the political spectrum wrote a letter in support of Duchess Meghan. They stood up for a mother, who is doing the best she can in a new country, new husband and new child.
As women MPs of political persuasions, we wanted to express our solidarity with you in taking a stand against the often distasteful and misleading nature of the stories printed in our national newspapers concerning you, your character and your family.

On occasions, stories and headlines have represented an invasion of your privacy and have sought to cast aspersions about your character, without any good reason as far as we can see.
Duchess Meghan was a self made millionaire, entrepreneur who had a fabulous life prior to marrying into the royal family.
Holly Lynch used her voice for all women when she stood up for the Duchess of Sussex. She is a role model and because of her leadership #UK can stand up for #Commonwealth values such as #HumanRights. Holly Lynch has taken the power vacuum left by Buckingham palace.
With this in mind we expect the national media to have the integrity to know when a story is in the national interest and when it is seeking to tear a woman down for no apparent reason.

Compare and contrast the reaction of the parliamentarians to that of the British Royal family. Royal spokesman and Kensington palace whisperer Richard Palmer stated that the British royals did not support Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan in their fight to defend their human right to privacy. He stated that Buckingham palace was taking the side of the bullies.
At 7 months pregnant she made a sacrifice of duty for Queen and her new country to promote the British government interests. Despite all these sacrifices Buckingham palace has never had her back. Queen Elizabeth is the Head of State in England and she is yet to stand up for women and Duchess Meghan. It is evident that there is a crisis in leadership in the United Kingdom.
Even more concerning still, we are calling out what can only be described as outdated, colonial undertones to some of these stories. As women Members of Parliament from all backgrounds, we stand with you in saying it cannot be allowed to go unchallenged.

Queen Elizabeth has been ill advised and failed to rise to the occasion as a leader. Today Buckingham palace has egg on its face because they are once again on the wrong side of history. Queen Elizabeth looks weak and out of touch and Kensington palace showed that they are not ready for leadership on the global stage.
Although we find ourselves being women in public life in a very different way to you, we share an understanding of the abuse and intimidation which is now so often used as a means of disparaging women in the public office from getting on with very important work.
