Its Amateur Hour at Kensington Palace: Tatler Shows KP Not Ready For Prime Time

Once upon a time the’ beloved’ English Catherine the Great Fell from grace. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Tatler is a magazine which believes that its audience lives in the “gilded age of very rich people”.  The great idea was to paint a glowing portrait of Kate Middleton. The Tatler “Catherine The Great Article” was supposed to be Kate Middleton’s crowing achievement.

Months earlier Insider confirmed Tatler was working with Royal family to write this story

The article was supposed to prove that Kate is now Catherine; now ‘posh’ and has assimilated seamlessly into the aristocracy. It turned out however to be a case of ‘Not Quite Our Class, Darling’ when Kensington palace went into a PR war with Tatler disputing the facts of the story. Escalating the war with Tatler showed that its amateur hour at Kensington Palace. After all there is the issue of the “stiff upper lip”, “never complain and never explain”. Kate Middleton broke royal protocol. A painful reminder to Kate and her followers that to Tatler readers that she does not quite belong .

Reasons the Tatler Article was an epic fail

1. Kensington Palace’s global embarrassment

Reaction to the Tatler article was swift. The article was a total disaster on every front. Kensington palace sought to distance itself; to limit exposure.  Proving that its amateur hour at Kensington palace. For cleanup Kensington palace reached out to their friends in the tabloids as in their royal custom. Discrediting Tatler and expressing that Kensington palace had nothing to do with the story. Small problem emerged with this arrangement. The tabloids may have reverence for the Cambridges but Tatler is respected by British high society and they were not about to back down and discredit their sources.

Tatler’s reputation was on the line and they were not going to be taken down by the likes of tabloids. Tatler issued a statement contradicting the palace. Cementing what many have always believed Kensington palace is not ready for Prime Time.

Tatler‘s Editor-in-Chief Richard Dennen stands behind the reporting of Anna Pasternak and her sources. Kensington Palace knew we were running the ‘Catherine the Great’ cover months ago and we asked them to work together on it. The fact they are denying they ever knew is categorically false.

  1. Tightsgate: Kate Middleton the crybaby

Once upon a time rumour had it that Meghan made Kate cry at the wedding rehearsal creating what we now know as “Tightgate” The whole palace media ran the story and tabloid sentiment sided with Kate. Oh poor, fragile Kate, what did Meghan do to you?

Books had been written and careers built over the allegation that the American Duchess made the perfect Duchess cry. Well why did she cry? We had been told that the demanding duchess made Kate cry. Empathetic voices came to Kate’s defense and justified hate against Meghan Markle. The whole echo chamber railed against Meghan only to find out that this woman Kate Middleton cried over tights.

Kate Middleton could not dictate what would go on at Meghan Markle’s wedding, so she cried.  Poor Kate Middleton this story has ruined her image as a kingmaker. What kind of a kingmaker would cry over juvenile issues such as tights? Much to the embarrassment of all her supporters who realized that their hero made them look silly. This juvenile behavior is unbecoming of a modern woman or one said to be preparing to become queen for that matter.

3. Branding Kate as perfect when she is human

Believing her own press Kate really began to believe that she was indeed invincible. After all she is the queen of the tabloid press. Rebecca English and Richard Palmer are their official mouthpiece. William and Kate leak information to the Sun to embarrass family members and anyone who crosses their path. Kensington palace has always branded Kate Middleton as the perfect princess. She is not Diana or Meghan the global princesses with their own voices. She is perfect like the Queen. She is seen and not heard and can do no wrong. Now the interview has messed with the perfect image which is impossible to keep and the war with Tatler has escalated.

4. Brand confusion: Who is the real Kate?

Kensington palace PR failure is a reminder that a brand cannot be all things to all people. Either Kate is a society girl or the girl next door. The girl next door image works for the tabloids but not for Tatler, so it creates brand confusion leaving everyone asking who the real Kate is. How can she connect to the Commonwealth when she no one knows the real Kate? Kate Middleton and Tatler have a history of working together to bully Meghan Markle.

5. Kate never welcomed Meghan

I don’t think that she ever pulled Meghan under her wing and said, “I’ll show you the ropes.

Kate’s friend Tatler Interview

Kate Middleton is supposed to be kind graceful and family oriented, yet she fails to show her sister in law the ropes. It shows that Kate wanted Meghan to fail. When that did not happen then she was furious. So, who is the real Kate the tabloid version or the Tatler version? which one is it, is she helpful or a snob?

5. Leaders take responsibility they don’t complain

Kate is furious about the larger workload. Of course, she’s smiling and dressing appropriately but she doesn’t want this. She feels exhausted and trapped. She’s working as hard as a top CEO, who has to be wheeled out all the time, without the benefits of boundaries and plenty of holidays.”

Kate’s friend Tatler Interview

The world is in the middle of a global pandemic and a princess is complaining about work load. What exactly has she been doing? Clapping hands for carers and Zoom calls? You call that work? How hard is that? This makes Duchess of Cambridge look lazy and out of touch to global audience.

6. Complaining about work reinforces the title Duchess Dolittle

Kate is furious about the larger workload. Of course she’s smiling and dressing appropriately but she doesn’t want this. She feels exhausted and trapped. She’s working as hard as a top CEO, who has to be wheeled out all the time, without the benefits of boundaries and plenty of holidays.

Kate’s friend Tatler Interview

Kate Bragged about conducting 1201 royal engagements since she joined the British royal family. This translates on average to 150 a year. The Queen, Princess Anne and Prince Charles average 500 engagements a year. This does her no favors.

7. Interview reminds audience of the dysfunctional family

The article then sheds light on Kate Middleton’s background reminding readers of the dysfunctional family members.

Worse yet, Carole’s brother, Kate’s uncle Gary, is a flamboyant boulevardier on his fourth marriage. He owned a villa in Ibiza, where Kate and William stayed, called La Maison de Bang Bang, and was a victim of a News of the World drugs sting (he said he was manipulated and set up).

8. Interview erases the People’s Princess legacy

I’ve heard that Prince William is obsessed with Carole. She’s the mummy he always wanted.

Princess Diana Saving Lives in Angola

Princess Diana is still regarded in the United Kingdom as the People’s princess. Prince Charles is so unpopular today because of the way he treated Diana. So, to equate Carol Middleton to Princess Diana is PR suicide because Diana still has the heart of Britain and the Commonwealth as the People’s Princess.

9. Loss of best friend Richard ‘Dickie’ Dennen

In 2018 there is the matter of how cruelly Kate treated Meghan Markle and never supported her during her pregnancy. As a mental health advocate most expected Kate to publicly stand with Meghan when she was pregnant and being bullied. In 2019 there was talk of Kate falling out with her best friend Rose Hanbury. In 2020 its the Editor of Tatler. Everyone knows that Kate Middleton is best friends with the editor of Tatler Richard ‘Dickie’ Dennen. They studied at St Andrews together and have vacationed togehter. The fallout from this article puts Kate at odds with another friend. He is the grandson of an Earl something that means a lot to the readers of Tatler. He is one of them, a member of the toffs or whatever they call themselves. Kate Middleton is developing quite a reputation.

The Duchess of Cambridge has picked a fight with Tatler. Tatler is highly regarded in the eyes of their audience. Tatler’s reputation is on the line and the future queen is challenging this society bible. Kate Middleton may be queen of the tabloids but among society people there is just one English Rose.

Can one say that Kate aka Catherine the great is NASTY?! Umm!
The oversight by these people the RF, all this would not happen if they had embraced this dynamic couple (the Sussexes) & worked together or learn from them, but the jealousy, envy, its’ so sad😕.

I have now read the Tatler article in full, and I wonder if Kate had thought the bashing would stop at Meghan as usual, and that would have been just fine, normal, right? But what might have surprised her is that albeit at a lesser degree it went after other members of the family. It mentioned the two recent divorces, the milk commercial, and I think the biggest faux pas was Andrew. She might have gotten away with offending Anne and Margaret’s families, but the Queen is another matter all together, and they have been trying so hard to distract and deflect, and here comes Kate putting it in a publication! I imagine the Queen was not too happy about that. And while they were throwing shade at everybody, Catherine the Great is put forward as the saviour who is going to right the ship that has been going wonky for awhile, and she has been the steadying hand all along. I can’t imagine the RF was happy about this at all. It is o.k. to pile on an outsider, but you can’t attack the RF while elevating your mother to lofty heights. Yes, I think she panicked and thus the denials and threats. But once it is out there, it is out there, and I imagine she is not going to be having a very good time amongst those circles.

I think maybe Roses husband could have something to do with this article. The whole thing seemed to be a puff piece the only thing that stood out to me was the insinuation that William was a weak man. Roses husband being so high in the aristocratic circles would have access to all Kate’s friends. This author also proclaims to be an aristocratic snob they probably have each other’s numbers on speed dial. Maybe a divorce in the near future, the idea that Meghan was involved is ridiculous.

I don’t know if Rose’s husband would have dragged the Sussexes. There were also snippets in there about other Royals. I think that is what really scared Kate.

Kate is pathetic litte bully, shameful behaviour. She will never lead the commonwealth. Seeing her being carried by Africans reminds me of colonialism. The fact that Catherine allowed herself to be carried by Africans like she is a god told me she hates black people. She never supported Meghan because she hated black women.
