I wanted to organize the fundraiser for Archie’s first birthday, so I got a group of people from Twitter on a group chat and we made it happen,”. “We never had a specific amount we hoped to hit. Ultimately, we hoped to simply help the charities and raise awareness for the projects people are conducting to help children through this pandemic.

Leadership is about inspiring others to act. Inspired by Prince Harry’s passion for the environment, and Meghan Duchess of Sussex’s drive for uplifting others; a global network of Sussex supporters from 12 different countries came together for a worthy cause. The goal was to plant 10,000 trees #SussexGreatForest as a tribute to Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan and Master Archie. The campaign ended on Master Archie’s first birthday. In less than a month the goal was reached and the Sussexsquad #SussexGreatForest organizers planted 115,000 trees!!!! Talk about exceeding expectations. Wow Sussex Squad members save the environment and create sustainable solutions.

We started talking about this in July, but it was the couple’s recent tour of southern Africa that really had us switch gears. Not only did we want to counter the biased, negative reporting from some of the British media, we also wanted to show our support in an impactful way.

Archie’s life brought about community connections. Strangers became acquaintances and even friends. His life has brought so much joy to the world. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex encourage us all to thrive and not just survive. The Sussex brand promotes making the world better.
