Duke and Duchess of Sussex Meghan and Harry made a substantial donation of £90,000 to Feeding Britain, an organization that provides food and hot meals across the United Kingdom to families in need. They became the first and only royals to make a personal donation to the people of Britain. The Archbishop of Canterbury officiated Harry and Meghan’s marriage is also the president of Feeding Britain cementing a connection to the charity. The Archbishop has been a support and pillar in the Sussexes life.

The Sussexes chose to support Feeding Britain by donating excess funds which were generated from the 2018 BBC broadcast of the Sussexes’ wedding. The Duke and Duchess wanted the excess funds to go to a worthy cause emphasizing purpose in everything they do.

Meghan and Harry visited the beneficiary of Feed America in Birkenhead. In 2019 Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry officially opened a Feeding Birkenhead citizen’s supermarket and community café the new location of Number 7. Feeding Birkenhead is a partnership of churches, food banks, community groups working together to eradicate hunger in Birkenhead.

Growing up Meghan volunteered at Homeless shelter in LA. At thanksgiving as part of their Thanksgiving celebration Meghan and her mother Doria volunteered at homeless shelters handing out turkeys to make sure that other people were fed during this great American holiday. Meghan always volunteered at soup kitchens as a teenager.
